I know there's clearance issues you are dealing with, but if you could simplfy the whole thing down to 2 mounting plates and a single, large diameter tube, maybe 2.5" or even 2", and the tube is concentric with the puck, the danger of flexing it in half would simply go away.If you need to cut a fishmouth opening to get to the puck's mounting nut, it would still be way strong. Even bent tube or tubing cut at and angle and welded back into an angled tube, would push and pull more stoutly than your prototype. And have less welds. And have higher strength/weight ratio, so you could use thinner material. Not so important for weight, but you get even more effective penetration on the welds with lighter stock. I like the idea of it and the replaceable pucks are cool so you can pick and choose your material and replace at will. In any case, a step forward.
